I have gotten seven (7) badges but the two guards are still blocking the path to the lake... What do I do?

Near the entrance to great marsh you should see a galactic grunt, talk to him and he will run off follow and talk again and again until you reach lake valor entrance battle him and he will leave for good. and then they should be gone.us

Like Alexander says- meet with Prof Rowen in the Veilstone City Library, then he'll send you to Lake Valor. The next step is to find the galactic grunt next to the Pastoria Great Marsh Observatory Gate. Chase him or follow him to the Lake Valor entrance then battle him.

If I;m not mistaken you have to meet with Prof. Rowen on the Veilstone City Library, after that he'll send you to Lake Valor... at least thats what I remember...
