A prescription calls for ampicillin 200mg, give 0.8g. How many tablets are needed??

Milligrams are thousandths of a gram: 1000mg = 1g

0.8g = 0.8*1000mg = 800mg

800mg (total dose) / 200mg (per pill) = 4 pills

1 gram = 1000 mg
0.8grams = 800 mg
so 4 tablets

200 mg=200/1000 gm=0.2 mg
No of tablets reqd=0.8/0.2=4

four......but they don't have ampicillin in that strength here in the States.
