Sounds like it's time to get the lawnmower out, to me

A mower and some protective clothing? First thing you need to do is get the grass down, especially if you expect you to get out there. You will also need to get rid of the poison oak, to make it safer, if you have kids or pets, to play there.
I don't know if there is a poison you can use on the poison oak, but that might be an option to look into.
As to what to paint the shed with it would depend on the kind of shed, what its made of. Use a good exterior paint for whatever the surface is.

Step one: go into shed

Step two: get weed whacker

Step three: Apply weed whacker to grass.

Step four: go into shed and get rake

Step five: Rake up the grass and debris around the shed

Step six: wash down the walls of the shed to remove dirt and moss.

Step seven: Paint the shed.

Step eight: Run a bath, and add about 1/4 to 1/2 cup of Chlorine bleach to the bath water.

Step nine:Take a long hot soak in the chlorinated bath and bath from head to foot. Do this within a few hours after exposure to poison oak or Ivy.

I would go with an all plant killer, not just a weed killer. Start spraying and work your way in, then clear the debris, but make sure you are fully covered when handling the mess. This would be about a two day project for the plants. Then you will need to lightly sand your shed and make sure it is smooth and no old paint is falling off and then decide what kind of exterior paint you want.

In the future, you might want to keep the grass away from the shed by putting stone pavers around it, or even laying weed barrier (plastic wrap) and mulch. It will help keep it accessible.

Good luck!!

I also have a 4 year that is tall for her age she is 3ft 8in. I have a 14 yr old that is 2 in taller than me. She is 5ft 7in. I am only 5ft5 and her father was 6ft 5. The doctors have told me that my oldest would be close to 6ft by the time she was done growing. There isn't anything wrong with it. But your husband is probably right. She probably will be taller than you. Mine already is and she is just 14. Talk about weird!! But you learn to deal with it. It's ok.

Wear clothes that cover your skin and weed whip all around the area. Rake it up and place into a container (use gloves).
Now all you need is a paintbrush, a ladder and paint.

cut down as much as you can. Then start on the south facing side early in the morning and go clock wise around the building finishing on the east side.

you could try some weed killer or something to get arid of the stuff on the shed and paint it. Check out your local library, might have info in books on how to get arid of that stuff.

a killer herbicide to kill the poison weeds. Then get the mower out (after the weeds are dead). After that, you are ready to paint.
