Yes! When I was very young in my first apartment, the walls were paper thin. In the beginning I was curious, then after a while it was normal to hear, "IIIIIiiiiiiEeeeee, iiiiieeeeee" from the wife next door as her husband made love to her....

On the other hand, it was terrifying to hear a small child from the downstairs apartment screaming, "Help me, somebody help me", as her mother beat her. That was the first and only time I was ever evicted, and I left voluntarily after I called the police and gave them a report on what I heard. The mother was a single mom upset because she had a child by a married man and he would not leave his wife and celebrity offspring for her, but he continued to pay her well... and she continued to abuse her daughter as he continued to abuse his children...a vicious circle. God Bless!

i lived in an apartment for a year, and for 10 months of that year, the neighbors on my side of the apartment were super silent. the guy must've got himself a gf those last 2 months cuz there was nothing but sexing going on all day long. on the other side of the apartment, we were convinced that there were drug dealers living next door. there would be late night visits followed by a LOT of yelling and screaming with plenty of obscenities. sigh...good times...

More often then I care to remember of the times when I have been feeling extremely lonely and then a headboard and/or a bed mattress/box spring would start a steady rhythm keeping me awake to remind me of an even more intense loneliness. Yes, I have definitely lived in apartments that had thin walls. :o)

yes and my sex life went to hell-- I knew if I could hear them going at it-then they could hear us. I used to run the shower, turn the TV up and start the dishwasher all at the same time just so I could have sex--LOL

I had some neighbors that made so much noise I had to turn the TV up just to hear it. Then the other neighbors came and whined at ME for having my TV so loud.

Yeah. My last upstairs neighbors were extremely loud to begin with, but the paper thin floors didn't help matters any.
