child - 7 year old Yeremi Vargas - who disappeared whilst playing outside his home in Gran Canaria... or will that steal too much of their own thunder?

"needtoknowjo" - no-one is asking them to make a plea for each and every missing child. However, they will be imposing upon Spanish hospitality [they have meetings arranged with the Spanish Interior Minister,British Ambassador as well as Press conferences] so this is the very least they can do.
The case of the Spanish child has been covered extensively within their own newspapers.... so a little respect for the host country would not go amiss.

Faith - 'first terrible error'? They left their children EVERY NIGHT of the holiday!! Someone knew this (probably the same person who the mccanns saw taking photos of maddie and did nothing about).
Why would they care about anyone else who is in this position (through no fault of their own) when they can get a free trip around the world. They were more preoccupied buying clothes to go and meet the pope than finding maddie.
I had to laugh when, in the papers the other day they were going on about how they were leaving the twins for the first time when they went to meet the pope - funny they forgot about those times on holiday when they were too busy going out at night to be with their children

Unless they are briefed to do so by their PR Adviser, the answer would be No. Although i think it would be wise for them to do so. I don't think the Spanish would take too kindly to the inference that the Mccann's child is of greater importance than this little boy.
I can't understand the relevance of travelling to Spain anyhow. Madeleine disappeared a Month ago. If she was taken across the border, how likely is it that it would be remembered now. At this time of the year there is a huge amount of movement in Tourist areas. Someone asked about a Passport, as far as i am aware you do not need a passport to travel within the EU.
Now lets be honest here, if Madeleine was abducted, how likely is it that her abductor was parading her around in public anyway? For example, neither Huntley or Whiting were ever seen with their victims. Paedophiles must of necessity keep a low profile. The excessive media coverage has, in my opinion, made it less likely that Madeleine will be found.
Anyone involved would have gone to ground.
All i can see from these trips is the promotion, not of Madeleine, but the McCann's themselves. I wonder after this Tour, how many people will be able to identify a photo of Madeleine and how many be able to identify the Mccann's?
I hope that both children will be found safe, but after all this time, sadly, i doubt it.

I doubt they will mention another missing child when they dont mention thier own - well only as an afterthought. Take a look at todays update, cant wait for the update. No mention of the twins. Poor kids - do they even realise they have parents, left at every opportunity, for meals, for flights, for everything.
Latest Update - Gerry's Blog/Diary
1st June 2007
Day 28
Press conference in Rome went very well giving us an excellent forum to ask for help in the search for Madeleine. We told people about the website, how to download posters and ask people to print them and take on holiday wherever they are.
We arrived in Madrid late last night and have a series of meetings arranged with government and non government agencies concerned with child welfare. We will also be hosting a press conference again to raise general awareness of Madeleine´s disappearance and ask for the public´s help in our search for Madeleine. We may also do a few very short interviews for US news stations which are widely broadcast in Europe, N.Africa and Asia, particularly in English speaking hotels and other outlets. Will update after meetings.

I shouldn't think so. They have done very little for anyone other than themselves so far. If I was in their position I would be setting up part of my website for all the missing children and publicising other peoples woes as much as I could. Surely now they know how it feels to have a child taken yet they seem to empathise very little with anyone else. They are in the limelight and could do so much yet they would rather make a blog about their daily activities rather than focusing around missing children or even Madeleine for that matter.

Children go missing every day all over the world. They are all very upsetting cases and no one case is more important than the other. It can be a sick world in which we live. This whole McCann case has been hyped beyond belief and I am sure there are many desperate and broken parents who see it unfair that their own child has not been helped in this way.

I bet Team McCann have taken out this insurance... retrospectively so they can add to their coffers... They'll need it since they intend on doing precisely the same thing next time they go abroad... ..i.e leave their kids at the bottom of a very long garden!

Their visit to Spain looks to be mis-timed unless they give the Spanish child's disappearance equal coverage. I woulld't like to bet on that because they don't seem to be giving their own missing child much coverage.
Hope the twins are still enjoying their time in the creche and are not missing their parents too much!

I hope they do. The only good thing to come out of this is to bring forward the terrible tragedy of so many children taken. I read your link. That is so horrible. I really feel for that mother.
It seems so sad and so unfair when one child's disappearance is so publicized over another child's. Think Natalee Holloway.
