Can I apply any stretch mark cream during my pregnancy period? When do I apply? How many times per day? Is there any side effects for the baby? Pls advise.

I got stretch marks in the 3rd trimester, I used a lot of lotion but it didn't help. Some women get stretch marks and some don't you just have to wait and see.

Stretch marks tend to occur when the abdomen is fully distended. This will usually be seen during the later part of third trimester. It is best to check the cream you wish to apply to prevent the marks for any warnings and fetal harm.
You can though apply Vitamin E oil available over the counter at any pharmacy 2-3 times a day all over the tummy to prevent or heal stretch marks.

You can get strectch marks early in the pregnancy or late in the pregnancy if you are prone to get them however the cream does not work.. Believe me with my daughter I put it on everyday twice a day , and by my 24th week my stomach was a road map of stretch marks.. However my sister never got a stretch mark the whole pregnancy untill the day she delivered.. I guess all the contracting and pushing was to much for her stomach to handle. Hers were very little and only on her hips.. The cream is safe however to use during pregnancy..

You can apply a whole tub of that cream everyday, from week 1 if you like, there aren't any rules about it. Those creams don't really do anything for the majoirty of the population, though. Strech marks tend to be kinda genetic- if your mom got them, you probably will, too.

If they're gonna happen, they'll happen in the 3rd trimester, but if you were really tiny to begin with, you may start seeing them in the 2nd.

Usually in the 2nd trimester you might start getting strech marks. there are many different type of cream my two favs are tummy butter and bio oil. You apply twice a day and there are no side effects for the baby they recommended during pregnacy. take care and congrats :)

well i started putting coca butter on my belly, boobs, and hips twice a day once in the morning after my shower and once just before bed you don't need to do it twice a day once in the morning is ok as well as soon as i found out i was pregnant (5 weeks) i now only have 9 weeks to go and have only got 3 stretch marks (all on my boobs)...its not because i was a large girl or anything i am actually twice my normal size so the cream must have worked for me...its your choice what you do and it does also depend on the person and the body to how your skin reacts to it...it cannot harm your baby...and is quite good for your skin...i hope this helps you and congrats on your pregnancy and good luck with the stretch marks...if you get them don't worry they are quite normal and are part of nearly every mothers lives (they do fade don't forget)
good luck!

Mine occured towards the end of my 2nd trimester. Honestly, I don't think creams help much, I think that whether the marks will stay on your skin or not really depends on your skin type. I started using the palmers one before any of my strechmarks even appeared, I avoided scratching my belly but still my belly looks like a roadmap a year later after I gave birth, it's not even fading at all.
*No the cream did not affect my baby.

I didn't want to get stretch marks so I put lotion on my belly every day starting at about 3 months and then twice a day the last 2 months or so. I usually just used a nice, thick lotion, not one specifically for stretch marks. It worked great - I didn't get any stretch marks - on my belly. It was the only place I put lotion, and I got stretch marks every where else - my butt, hips and boobs. So I know it works.

Most of the time not till the last if your just carrying one baby because up until that point the is growing at an even enough pace for your body to keep up with. The most rapid growth in size happens in the last 3 months babies pick up about 4 or 5 lbs in just 3 months that's a lot of weight for your body to accommodate in short a short time.

Well I used palmers and it did nothing. I still got stretch marks with my daughter but not until the very last month or so. With this pregnancy I am 31 weeks and so far no new ones but the old ones are more prominent than they were when I wasn't pregnant. Good luck!
