I've heard this from many conservatives, I believe Rudy Guilani said it first. I would like to know, from conservatives who are familiar with Al Gore's background, what you believe he would have done differently if he had been in those shoes.

He probably would have invited Bin Laden for some sort of conference, and apologized for making them so angry.
Then he would have asked Bin Laden if he would like to kill a few more Americans, just as a sort of parting gift.

I agree, the following terrorist attacks happened during the Clintion/Gore years, and they did nothing, go through scandal after scandal, Monica, Whitewater etc.

Osama and the boys Attepted to blow up the world Center in 93, I do know They Killed 19 Airman and wounded 300 Airman in 96 at Khobar Towers, I do know, That Osama and the Boys Blew up 2 U.S. Embassy's in Africa in 98, Also in 98, Clintion bombed Iraq with the same intell we went to war with, Also in 98 the Sudan offered Osama to Clintion and Gore and they said no, that he wasn't a threat. I do know that Osama and the boys Blow a Hole in the U.S..S Cole in 2000. I do know that 3,000 Americans were killed by Osama and the Boys on 9-11, it took 6-8 years to plan and train for 9-11 they were in charge for 98% of the time, and I hope these stupid Left wing nut 9-11 conspricy Theories go away 2, respect our Country and lives lost that day .

I don't think that he could have given the nation as much pride and leadership. If he would have led like Clinton had done, he would have done nothing to avenge or prevent future terrorists. When they were in office they put a lot of terrorist knowledge to the side; leaving much crucial time for terrorists to plan 9/11. While I think Gore has his strong attributes (leading the global warming campaign) he always comes off as hypocritical and cowardly (being one of the biggest greenhouse gas emitters i.e. his personal jet.)

Gee, maybe Al Gore would have been more concerned with comforting the victims, properly and openly investigating the attack and then attacking the people who were responsible for 9/11 rather than using it for political purposes (such as concentrating power and invading countries that had nothing to do with 9/11)?

Mind you I suspect that Osama is thanking God that Bush was president certainly, Osama does seem the religious type and his tactics wouldn't work against someone who responded rationally so he'd be pretty thankful... doubly so since he still hasn't been caught under Bush.

I don't think 9/11 would have happened in the first place. No Cheney to order our fighter jets to stand down instead of chasing those planes, no Bush and Condi to ignore those memos saying that we're going to be attacked, etc. No, the attacks would be deferred another 4-8 years when Gore's already out of office. The neocons would probably create some sort of Clintonesque scandal for him, too!

Well, he wouldn't have attacked a country that was completely innocent of 9/11.

He probably would NOT have implemented a policy of torture.

He probably would have worked with other countries to find Bin Laden.

He wouldn't have outed a former Al Qaeda operative who was willing to cooperate with us.

Just to name a few things, off the top of my head.

At the time, I remember thinking Gore wouldn't have even had the stones to go into Afghanistan. If the post invasion situation had stabalized quickly, we'd have a completely different view of what has transpired. We did achieve defeat of the Sadam government in 3 weeks. The success we've had is to broadly ignored.

Actually, it was Al Gores' campaign who said it first. Why do you think he lost his own state, the people who know him best are the people happiest he lost.
