but what would happen if the world were to turn on its side and north and south became east and west???? just a crazy thought..lol

Technically there is no up for the South Pole. But the up part of the North Pole would Space. Also most likely the South Pole "up would be also Space. Just think the world is just a Ball. Anything out of it is space.
