Hi! I'm writing a book and i need some info. I usually do wolves but i'm not sure about coyotes....is a group still a pack or band? And is the dominant male still called an "alpha"? Any info about their social structure would be amazing! Thanks guys! You're really helping me out!

Coyotes (Canis latrans) do travel singularly they can travel in "Pack's" of three or more...
Dominant is referred to as Alpha (1each for male and female)

Social structure is affected by the amount of food and usually does not exceed three coyotes. Mated pairs are more common.

Coyotes, from what I understand, are largely solitary. They get together for mating and raising pups, but they hunt alone. They don't have packs with complex, definied social heirarchies like wolves.

actually pack or band works..and yes I believe the dominant male is the 'alpha dog"
