I cant say either is a better vehicle... i have owned both, and i liked them equally... and its all an opinion...

if your talking like.. facts, then GM is bigger then ford, but that doesnt necessarily mean they are better then ford. I like them both, they both make good, sturdy, reliable vehicles

and jennifer s, that is completely UNTRUE, i work for the city of chicago, and i know for a fact that ford workers are REQUIRED to take drug tests, they HAVE taken drug tests, and they DO NOT get drunk/high on the job.

AND if you knew ANYTHING, its that the vehicles are NOT stored at the plant, they are stored 3 miles away at a high security facility. and there are MANY vehicles there

I personally would say chevy. this my be because my dad has the same feelings and whatnot, but over the years, i have seen my fair share of fords, my dad works for thyssen krupp, and they recently switched their company vehicles to ford econoline 150's, its a junker, it may take alot of miles a day, but it has regular maintanence and my dad has more miles on the chevy's we own, they just run better. i have a 71 Nova, and it's motor and tranny will never fail, i take good care of it, and it takes good care of me. ford motors just have poor designing implemented into the engine, the distributor, therefore the oil pump, is at the front of the engine on a lot of the V8 motors, and under high acceleration, that can cause a lack of oil to the rest of the engine. it can be very dentremental to the health of the motor. not only is it hurtful, the dist. just gets in the way. another thing i have noticed is the amount of damage they take.. i live in front of a really bad intersection, and fords just dont seem to be able to take the punishment of the accidents, and before you all say, i realize that not all accidents are the same, but i have seen all kinds, small ones, bigger ones, ford just doesnt have the resilience of the other cars, i saw one accident where the whole front end of a f-150 was about torn off, bent the right frame rail and tore the left one clean off, right behind the control arm. the engine was warped, and he wasnt even in the main accident, he was side swiped by another car that got hit, a jeep liberty...

anyways.. Chevy has never let us down, and we are car savvy people, but.. we have just had some great cars...

I've had both a Chevy and a Ford and though I used to love my Chevy's, my Ford cars have been much much more reliable!

Since Ford has screwed me twice I am going to say Chevy. Also I work with several women who have husband that work at a major Ford plant in Chicago and none of them would ever drive a Ford. The plant workers get high drink on the job and none of them were required to take a drug test for the job. Drive through a Ford plant and see how many Fords are there. Not many.

It's just a personal thing. People will claim one or the other is best. I like Ford trucks, you may like another. The only car I've had problem with is a new Toyota Solara Convertible I bought in 2002, and the dealer and manufacture would never give me any satisfaction or even try.

POtata...PAtato....Ford

Look around you and see how many old trucks are still on the road in your area, and see which one has the most.

For my area it is Ford. I have a 1986 F350 that has only given me regular maintanence problems such as fuel filters.

Any thing made by man will have problems, a LOT is determined by the owner who is able to prevent coming problems or minimize the results of a problem.
If somebody fails to do preventative maintanence, they will tend to be sitting on the side of the road.
