yes. it was an old turn dial. even the channels were on a dial. you had to smack the side of it near it's death, b/c the picture kept shrinking off to the side.

Yep, then the power button broke and dad made a switch on the side of the tv to turn it off and on. He was quite the handy man. We also had a tv with a remote that the buttons weren't labeled.

Yes...until I was about 13 (1984). Then a remote came with the cable box.

yes i did grow up with a TV with out a remote... its funny cause we didnt actually have a lil remote to change the chanells but when my dad wanted chanell changed he would just ask one of 7 children including me to doit for him lol so in a sence my dad had builtin remotes to change the tv for him lol

yes and the tv didnt have any buttons on it either, we used a screw driver as the remote. every time we wanted to change the channel we would have to go get the screw driver and push it in the holes on the tv. (Im Mexican)

Yes and at my Grandma's house we had to go outside to turn the antenna just to change channels while everyone else inside yelled when to stop turning it. Have you ever lost your remote? Waaaaa. lol

Yes, then the old style clickers came out, then remotes and now have the remote. With dead batteries! :(
