I am going into the fifth grade, and during the summer I want to read a lot of books. But the only problem is I don't have any books to read. so what do you recomend?

I am a lot higher then my reading grade level. I really like historical fiction, realistic fiction, and fantasy. But really I am open to any thing. So what do you suggest.

well from along time ago in the 5th grade the only two books i remember were. The Cricket in Times Square and The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe.
Look more for fantasy. There will be plenty of time for realistic stuff when you older.

Two books that will make you think--and both are about the world after a holocaust (an atomic war), you could try The Road by cormac mccarthy and Z for Zacharia by robert o'brien. They are interesting since the first is about a boy and the second is about a girl. They both somewhat scary though, so if such things might trouble you, consider some others.

Hey, it's great you are reading. Recommend highly the Eragon series by Christopher Paulini (don't know on spelling) and the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling. Also, any books by Peg Kehret, Margret Petersen Haddix and Roald Dahl. I am a big reader too, and will be reading through out the whole summer. Good luck!

Bridge to Terabithia was one of my favorites. Try the Warriors series by Erin Hunter. Deals with cat clans. There are three separate series so make sure you start with just plain Warriors (six books total). The next one is Warriors: New Prophecy (six books as well) and the thrid is Warriors: Third Power and there's only one right now. A lot of kids like them.
