Ok, why is it never ending?

because it is an infinite number, we dont know the exact value cause it never ends

The numbers that has exact value can be expressed as P/Q where P & Q are integers. Pi can not be expressed as P/Q

If we try to express as a P/Q there is always remainder

PI = 4 -4/3+4/5-4/7+4/9- ......

4/3 is the error of 4

but in the 4/3 there is still an error of 4/5

Thus
PI = 4-(4/3-(4/5-(4/7-(4/9-(....................))))))))))))

A never ending fraction & hence PI is never ending.

Indian Mathematician Aryabhata said when he suggested
PI = 62832/2000 that it is only approximate . Later Nilakanta(1444-1544 AD),Kerala Mathematician said it is irrational while wrote commentry on Aryabhateeya of aryabhata. The argument he has put forth is that there is always a remainder when you try express PI as a fraction & PI is not a REMAINDER LESS value. He further argues that this is because we are trying to measure a curve(circumferance) in terms of a straight line (diameter or radius) . Thus we don't have an exact value, since curve remain curved even if you cut into any number of bits.

We DO know the exact value of Pi. It is called Pi.

As you study math further and further, you will understand that some numbers can not be represented EXACTLY by numbers alone. Some needs to be represented by formulas, equations, or symbols. Pi is one of them.

The exact numerical representation of pi goes on forever. If you write down a billion digits, it is still not exact because there is another number to make it more exact. Once you have done that, it is still not exact, as there is another number that will make it more exact. and so on, and so on....

Since we cannot use numbers to do the job, we use the symbol, which is pi. I believe there are also formulas that will represent it, but I don't remember it off the top of my head.

Why is it never ending? You can search the web with words like "pi proof", but be aware, it is way beyond most people's ability to understand why....

It's like 10 divided by 3, it keeps getting closer to the exact value, but never makes it.

It is a mystery. That fact that no mathematical proof exists as to why pi will never repeat has supercomputers crunching away at exending pi to millions (billions?) of decimal places. Perhaps it has something to do with the infinite limit on the angle of a line becoming less and less tangent to a circle but never approaching zero because you can always divide that angle in half again.

Simply because we depend on the decimal system which cannot provide a finite result for the division of the circumference of the circle to its diameter (pi).

until you wish to get a better number of pi you need to get more acurately values of the longitude of an especific circumference and his diameter. it's becomes a zoom question. you will fall into infinite values deppending of your scale. think going zoom in into an intercept of a grafic you will never find the real cross point, it's an aproximation depending of your software, calculator or shets of paper.

pi is irrational because one of the formulas to get it is based on a circle being a regular poligon with infinate sides. unfirtunatly, because of the word infinate, the formula literally goes on forever.

It is an irrational number. Actually, it's worse than irrational, it's completely crazy. Don't mess with pi, man, it'll fork you up. That number is loco.
