I love all these answers - I think they do all apply. I don't really think of myself as secretive, but several times in my life, people who I've worked with for years have looked at me after I've said something and said something like "wow - I didn't think you were interested in that". It's been with music I like, people I know, or how adventurous I am. To people I know well, they're just as surprised by these reactions as I am.
I think it is trying to keep my professional life professional (they don't need to know what I did last weekend, why should I talk about it?) and don't think strangers should know about my personal business. There are too many people out there that will tell you wayyyy too much information. I know I am slightly repelled by that and try to go the opposite direction.

I don't really know why that is but I'm a capricorn and I've always been that way myself. I don't really get personal with people very easily. I could know someone a long time and still not have told them a whole lot about me personally. On the other hand, once in a rare while I'll meet someone that I click with and I will share quite a bit in a short time period. But mostly that doesn't happen very often.

We ARE rather hesistant, I guess you're right, lol.
Because! We feel like someone will take the information they learn and use it against us somehow. We like being mysterious. Only if we truly trust you will we reveal our innermost secrets.

i don't really even know what my 'true self' is (that's kind of the million dollar question lol) or how i would show people who i really am. but with me it really depends who i'm with and what kind of situation i'm in. there are certain people that i'm really open with but with most i only say what needs to be said unless i really click with them.

well, i believe in being original...so i always show all wat i am...however, i hate to talk about my private matters because of too many fears.
- its a selfish n boring thing.
- i dont want anyone to discuss it with someone else
- it will be used against me if the person becomes my enemy
