I bought fabric to cover a plain scrapbook - a hinged album, if need to know - and I'm not sure how to attach the fabric to the album. I have thought of a few options, such as staples or glue or eyelets, but none of those options seem like they would work that well. I appreciate your help in coming up with other ideas to attach the fabric to the album. Thanks!

There is spray adhesive that might work, at least to keep the fabric attached to the main cover. You could also use regular glue, thinned down with some water, and applied with a foam brush...too thick and the fabric won't really lie flat.

Regular glue should be okay for attaching the fabric to the inside covers (I'm guessing that you'll cut the fabric an inch or two bigger than the dimensions of the scrapbook, fold it over, and then secure the fabric to the inside. You might then cover that with a piece of cardstock, or perhaps even another piece of fabric, which will give it a more finished look.)

i would cover the front surface by pulling the fabric over the inside and i would run long stitches connecting all 4 sides to pull it very tight, then cover the inside with another piece of fabric with the edges sewn or folded inward so there is no raw edge and glued with fabric glue to the area of the front cover that has been pulled over to the inside. dont glue in the center, just along the edges of the inner fabric. do that to the front and back covers if its a book that has the screw posts in the hinge, you will need to pierce the holes with an ice pick or something.

The ones I have seen done are attached with staples or a strong glue or double-sided tape. Then a panel of fabric is laid across the inside of the cover to overlap the overturned edges of the front.

cover the exterior by placing scrapbook onto the wrong side of fabric.
You can cut it one inch larger all around the shape, being sure to close the book and make sure there is plenty of give in the fabric and enough to cover it when closed.
with hot glue, attach fabric.
Measure and cut a rectangle of foam core boars the size of the inside of the scrapbook cover.
cut two
cover one side of each of them withh fabric.
Glue rough isde to the inside of the cover to hide all rough edges of fabric

Hot glue will work well, run a line along the edges only. You can buy ribbon to hide the rough edges on the inside and it will give your scrapbook a finished look.

If you want his name embossed on the front cover, I know some Christian bookstores here in SC will emboss names on the front of bibles. They might emboss his name on the front for a fee...worth checking into.
