Interesting. However, I think you'll be dissapointed. Most people out there will watch a movie simply for entertainment values, which is a horrible thing, but they do sometimes miss an excellent film. Many wonderful movie don't neccessarily "top the box" because people don't find them entertaining. Premonition was a beautiful film which displayed having faith, perservirence (sorry for spelling), and most importantly loving. A lot of people don't really think about the many close up camera shots on people's faces or the thought provoking puzzle that came along with it. However, there are a few who do analyze a film to the fullest.

Hi. I believe the Cinema is a place where you can escape reality for a couple of hours to enjoy an art form for it's entertainment value. To me films are entertainment whether or not they portray real life situations or not . If i look at a movie and decide that i do not like it,well i won't see it again. And the ones i do enjoy i see them over and over .I do not think you have to apply psychology to a movie to understand any hidden meanings they may have unless you want to.

I try to find good entertaining movies with a good storyline I can follow. It depends on the amount of entertainment the movie provides. If the storyline is too extreme, no amount of computer graphics is going to make it a better movie. I recently watched a movie with a bad storyline but good graphics, and I did not enjoy it because the storyline was way too out there. But,that's just my opinion.

Both! I still think my all time favourite is "Forrest Grump" and "Prince of Egypt". Up til now, I've not found any movies that can be on par with "Forrest" or cartoons that carry meaning like "Prince of Egypt".
Dun you think recent films are heading towards "virtual effects" rather than moving stories like Forrest? I've always watch at least 1 movie per week and each time the rating I give is "Not bad..." or "Hmmm..lotsa virtual effects. No big deal".
Its like Hollywood is running out of ideas....Give me a choice, I think I would prefer to dig back the old films and look for nicer ones.

Firstly, that is one of the best movies I've ever seen. The first time I watch movies, it's purely for entertainment purposes and I accept the plot and everything that goes with it. The next time I see a movie, I must question many aspects of the movie.

I accept that all films exist within an imaginitve false reality. However films need to be true to themselves and the paremeters of the fictitious world they present. Meaning, all elements of the film must be in congruity with eachother. If something in a film seems unbelievable it is not because it is something that could not happen in real life but rather something that does not fit with the rest of the style of the film.

I don't have time to watch stupid stuff, there's too much good stuff out there. So, if the story line is off, the plot is dumb, whatever, I'm done. I question and critique it all along if I stay with it.

It just depends. If something is highly entertaining it can be easy to ignore how inane it is. If not entertaining, the holes shine through like swiss cheese.

I watch films for entertainment value only.... and for escapism...
Documentaries for realism, if I really want to see how the world really is...which most of the time.....I DON'T!!! (Too miserably depressing)!
