Watermelon rind got flushed down toilet, help?

Question

It wasn't that big of a piece but my 1 year old flushed a piece of watermelon rind down the toilet. My wife is out of town on a business trip and I don't know what to do anyone have any suggestions? I flushed the toilet and it went down I just don't know if toilet paper could get backed up

I tried using the plunger but it didn't work.

I don't have a septic tank can I still use it? I have the cities sewer.

What's the problem, if it flushes use it. I have dug out cell phones, different types of toys that were stuck. condoms, you name it, but watermelon rinds, never. It'll probably deteriorate fast anyway.

I hope you have another toilet in the house. If you put some
RID X down there with it, it will eat it away, but I suggest you don't use the toilet for 2 or 3 days. Other-wise call the plumber. The paper will get caught all around it and probably make a pretty good clog. If you have to use it, definitely do not put any paper down there. Good Luck Oh if you don't know where to buy the RidX go to any hardware or camping supply store. Kmart used to have it with porta pots, in the camping section.

It's probably OK but try flushing it a few more times without anything in it. Then try flushing it with some toilet paper in it. But keep a plunger handy if you have one.

the toilet is the biggest out let in the house and the rind should no on to the sewage treatment plant

dude its called a pluger just keep pushing it down till she gets back and it will back up on her and she will think she did it and there you go your out of trouble she will call the plumer and your out of it bud!
