No source? I thought not. Let me educate you. The APA reports that 67% of institutionalized schizophrenics are white females. Tell that to your "psychology teacher" when you go to sleep tonight.

it isn't necessarily the genes but it's the social factors and the predisposition . you are more likely to to TRIGGER schizophrenia if stressful events are in your life, which on average is something that Blacks have to contend with. SCHIZOPHRENIA is usually associated with the diathesis-stress model (genes and environment), such vulnerability places you at a higher risk for psychological difficulties. it also could be that the pple diagnosing them are bias.
it's true you guys, BLACKS are DIAGNOSED as having SCHIZOPHRENIA more, but that doesn't mean that they really do have it, but they might be correct, I see them all the time.
they might be institutionalized more (white females) but that doesn't mean they are DIAGNOSED more

I've never known of a black person with schizophrenia, I've known quite a few white people though. I need to get checked but my voices keep saying not to, just enjoy it!

that is the stupidiest thing i've ever heard. it's mostly whites who are diagnosed with schizophrenia. those statistics are even embedded in our culture. watch any movie with a schizo in it, what is he/she??
