Please note it is the neo-neoclassic style, not neoclassic.

Neo-neo seems tautological. It is simply neo-classism in my view.

In music and some arts, neoclassic style is characterized by:

1. A prevailing homophonic texture.

2. Regular melodic phrase structures which are symmetrical (antecendent/consequent).

3. The absence of harpsichord (or any keyboard) as a necessary support for any chamber, or symphonic work.

4. The invention of the piano and the beginning of it's great history as a solo instrument.

5. The standardization of the orchestra into strings with pairs of winds - usually two flutes, two oboes, two bassoons, two horns, two trumpets and timpani.

6. Flexibility of mood within a single movement as well as between movements of multi-parted compositions.

7. The heightened sense of the possibilities of the ABA structure in what is known as Sonata or First Movement form. The three sections would be described as Exposition, Development and Recapitulation resulting in a much more involved form with greater dimensions.

Emo is a trendy mainstream fashion style having nothing to do with music. Hardcore is a type of underground punk music having nothing to do with fashion. Now go ahead, all you emo teens and give me a thumbs down. You know you need to do it. :D P.S.: If you still think emo is an original style, type "emo" into the search box at the top of this page and see how many results you get. LIke 55,499???
