That is all it is about. The US government is worried about being taken over as the world's only superpower by the sheer size of the Chinese population and the quickest way to counter that is to allow mass immigration into the US. That is why nothing is being done about it. The US simply needs to grow. It's population can simply not compete with China's. I expect the US government would feel a population size in the region of 500 million would suffice so don't expect it to stop anytime soon.

No worries vegas. And people say what you like but there is nothing that you can do about it, you have no power, so just sit back and enjoy, or not the ride.

Many people live in poverty in the US today. So what does Chain having people living in poverty have to do with population increase in America? Like I stated mass immigration is the quickest and simplest way to increase population. Why else would the government have an open border policy and basic call it what you want but it looks like amnesty to me for illegals.

And I will say it one more time just incase you missed it. You can have all the opinions you like on the subject but the fact is it is happening and going to continue happening and there is nothing you can do about it.

Lol I am not saying that I think it is right just that it is the facts. Do you think your government is going to spell it out for you the way I have? By the way how is your government trying to explain it's lack of movement on this issue?

Same thing happened in Britain a few years back massive influx of immigrants and when the natives got jittery about it and complained they were labelled as racists from the left and that soon shut them up. Understand that it is well out of your control.

If this is the strategy of the neocons, then again they are blinds!!
Mass immigrations look good on paper, but when you reach a certain percentage of those immigrants inside a population, then you have aggregations that will form clusters.
In other words, integrations of too many immigrants cannot be absorbed by the current population, and will forms clusters of population that will not accept the host country values.
What it means, is that over time, you will have various cultures growing against the US values, that will ultimately results in a social clivage... Wheter or not such clivage will cause a civil war, nobody's knows yet... But to give you an exemple of such clivage, just look at France in 2005, where Paris suburb was set on fire by such a cluster of badly-integrated immigrants. And there, they were lucky, as it was only one such cluster, as 90% of those, were arabs or origin.
North America accept peoples of every countries now, a few decades before, immigrants were Europeans, that was fine as values were similar, but now... You know the rest...

But as far as your theory is concerned, The Us may feel the need to increase its population, not really to increase consumptions or its economy, but rather for keeping the geopolitical control of the whole planet (its global dominancy). So yes, they may need to increase the population, but since Chinese can immigrate to the US too, it may means that China is invading the US with its own population... With 300millions Americans, it could be quite easy for China to control it... If the US need 300 more million peoples they can ask China to provide them...
By the way the whole US economy is based on virtual value, and not hard value, like Germany and Japan, so if the US really want to increase its economy, they have other ways to do it...

it is significant to think of concerning the social and cultural outcomes of sturdy financial migration (experienced migrants). one ingredient to do would be to encouage experienced migration from international locations that have comparable cultures to the united kingdom. this style, it minimises the obtainable exchange to British subculture. Ie, extra individuals, Australians, Canadians, South Africans. much less Asian, South individuals, and Africans. possibly additionally some eastern Europeans. Wealth is likewise a correct element. people who can arise with the money for to stay a British existence style is physically powerful. Poverty ensuing in 10 human beings according to domicile isn't good.

This is not about size dude! It's about money! It has always been about money. It's about in-fluxing the work force continually with cheaper, harder working labor, to keep costs low, and profits high! The U.S. is not competing with China for the largest population! "Good Grief Charlie Brown!" We have the capability to reduce China and all their millions of people, to a smoldering pit in a matter of moments! Why, would we try to increase our population? Also, If we wanted to increase our population, we would keep our top breading age young men at home fooling around, instead of sending them half way around the world to fool around with foreign girls!!!

It's not quite that simple. But, yes, population is the key. The US fertility rate is below replacement - that is, Americans are simply choosing to have less than one kid a piece. That's fine, from the point of view of the people. You have only one kid, and you can give him a better education, while saving more for your own retirement.

From the PoV of the government, though, it's disasterous, for different reasons depending on your party affiliation. If you're a Democrat, your parties grandest accomplishment, and ultimate sacred cow, Social Security, will go bust if the population doesn't continuously increase. It is, afterall, a ponzi scheme, and those only work so long as the base of the pyramid keeps expanding. Similarly, if you're a Republican, you're all about delivering 'economic growth' - and how do you grow a mature economy? Increased population.

So, no, it's not a matter of mere numbers vis a vis China or India (both of whom, BTW, are trying to control thier population growth - China is below replacement /on purpose/). But it is about boosting population.

What on earth would make you think that we'd want to compete with any country on a population basis? The more people you have in a country, the more resources you have to use to keep them going. Do you really think that we need to have more people so we can buy more Chinese-made products to supply the demand for cheap electronics? How would that help us to be better at anything?

I agree with Stevers and I would like to add that many of the Chinese people live in poverty. Why would we want that?
I also think that if we give all the illegals a "free pass" then we have done a disservice to the people who followed the rules.

We don't need to grow with a population of illegal crimebreakers. Uncontrolled population growth will destroy any countries economy, and Mexico's big family mentality is that destruction facing us. We will never need that kind of out-of-control growth. If we let in this wave, the next will be ten times worse.

It's simply the quickest way to achieve Third-World status! We don't have any need to have a large, illiterate, population, dependent on government handouts! It would be one of the most *idiotic* reasons and would bankrupt the USA faster than a NY minute! *or* faster than Speedy Gonzales!

Besides, the Islamofascists, would quickly take over and reduce our population very rapidly!

Who besides "Open your eyes", doesn't understand *that*?

It would increase the size of the population, not the US. We have steady population growth, and really don't need uneducated laborers. Who doesn't understand 1 worker comes with about 20 family members to freeload? I have never heard of competing economically with more unskilled labor. Really, really dumb.

You can´t keep pouring people into the country...

Anyhow, you don´t need to increase the population, just its quality.

Nowadays, it´s not really the size of a population that counts, it´s the quality. You don´t need a mass of dumb, gnirant, poor people, just a few smart and scientifically well educated.
