This is what my life is all about, understanding myself. This is why I chose psychology, to understand why I do the things I do. If I simply accept them as the way I am and get on with my life I will never grow and learn to embrace my idocincracies or find the strength to overcome the shortcomings holding me back.
I choose also not to accept the most apparent reason why I do something, instead I wish to understand myself on a deeper level. This allows me to better shield or show my true animal to those around me.
If you don't come to understand the why you do the things you do, you will miss out on a lot of truly enjoying who you are.

Otherwise there would be complete chaos in the mind! Let me again give a freaky example that happened to me. 20 years ago I had the flu. It was more like flu-zilla. Nothing would stay down. Not even medicine. Since I was dehydrating quickly my ex-father in law gave me compazine, but, the one that goes down south of the border (wink wink). Lo and behold Delux_version is allergic to compazine. The reaction was involuntary muscle contraction. My shoulders would start to go up without thought, next my head, then my eyes would do weird things then lastly my tongue wanted to be seen and not heard. I freaked out, thought I was completely out of control. Once I was told what it was, I was completely calm. I understood, and that was enough, since I knew that a shot of Benydril would fix the problem. As for a more philosophical answer, I still need to understand why I do things. Otherwise I would just classify myself as something that uses instincts only. If that were the case I would like to be a penguin! They are groovy!

You know that. How would you know where you are going with things, if you don't understand what you do. Yes it is important. Keep having fun.

Yes, it is important actually. But in the corporate world, sometimes I dont even understand why my boss asks me to do certain things...but you just do it anyway, otherwise you face the WRATH of the boss. I hate wraths, these are bad!

Most of the time I already know. There are times when I wonder why I reacted a certain way. Then I think about it and try to figure it out.
Doesn't always work though. In some ways, I'm still a mystery unto myself.

Yes only because I need to let myself understand what went wrong and place my finger on it as to what is right in the first place... everything happens but for some reason somethings are BS reasons.

Yes. It helps me understand my moods. But the latter usually supersedes the understanding. I figure out my mood, then it explains my actions for the most part.
