Its the same as a punit square (genetics). They can get the colors the parents have plus, recessive genes that are not shown. Most of the time the color the babies represent are from the immediate parents, or a mixture of both. But I have had some guppies where the babies came from a Yellow/Black father and Blue Female and got some with red. Something else is that the female can be impregnated by more than one male, sounds fun huh. If the female has been messing around, you can get combinations from every father both dominant and recessive genes, along with the females dominate and recessive genes. Its pretty confusing, but I hope eventually this clears things up.

They can be pretty much any color, but if you have a pregnant guppy, be careful! The guppy mother will literally eat her children, so you need to seperate the babies out into another tank one by one, right after they're born, so they don't die!

Depends on there lineage, if they're true bred parents then the mix is 100pct if the parents are diff colours then you will find it being 25/50/25 female/mix/male. the more diverse the lineage then the more mixed the colours. of course if the female was pregnant before she entered the tank with this male you could have a few surprises.

of course thats a perfect answer and things are rarely perfect.

My guppies usually looked like their parents, though some probably looked like grandparents, etc, that I didn't know about.
