There are such extremes. We're going to be socialists if the democrats win. There will be endless war if the republicans win. One world order, globalism, immigration, radical Islam. Isn't there anything anybody is looking forward to? Anybody got anything good to say?

I'm looking forward to the '08 election. I think if we get a new administration in power, it is possible that the new president will want to and be able to begin to unify our country and take us in new directions that help us regain our reputation abroad, strengthen the middle class, bring our soldiers home and lead us away from dependence on fossil fuels.

>>Sure, in my personal and Spiritual life. But as far as the country as a whole, no. I just see things getting worse and worse. Almost the entire power structure is corrupt both Democrats and Republicans. They don't have to worry about their futures. Why not let millions of illegals in and bankrupt our retirement (SS) plan? The power structure has their own retirement plan that is very secure and will not be affected by this sudden influx of illegals. Radical Islam is a very real threat to the US. The amount of crime seems to be on the rise. My insurance premiums are up. My energy prices are up. My gas prices up. My taxes are up. I cannot imagine what these poor elderly people on fixed incomes are doing to survive. It gets even scarier to me when I think that we might vote in people(Democrats--I am Independent, neither is looking good to me right now) that are going to raise our taxes even more to support all of illegals. It is not looking real bright as far as the big picture is concerned. That is why I try to appreciate all the things that are closer to home. Family, friends, health, home, etc.

If we continue on this course of political correctness and continue allowing any Tom Dick and Harry to just walk into our country there isn't a future.

Doom and gloom sells and the voters eat it up. It is much easier to spread lies about your opponent than to tell the truth about yourself.

Socialism isn't communisim, it exists in every country except the US. Medicine for example, health care...great examples of socialism that we don't have. I don't feel there's much good right now with Bush in office. I can't wait until the elections so we can finally look forward to change.

Dems make up lies in this area to get votes. Their voters fall for it. That's very sad. Isn't it?
