I know it's hard not to worry when something changes with your pregnancy, especially something you have gotten so used to feeling, but it is normal for fetal movement to decrease at this satge of pregnancy. The baby's size is increasing rpidly in these last weeks and it now has less room to move round, therefore it moves less. This is a good sign, it means he is getting ready to enter the world! Do your kick count exercise and if that checks out then everything should be just fine. Good luck and best wishes to you.

According to my findings, a bicornunated uterus is synonymous to a heart-shaped uterus. Is this correct? If so, this could be contributing to the "drastic decrease" in fetal movement. To be certain, I'd suggest a call to the doc/nurse midwife for insight. At the very least, you'll want consolation/peace of mind as fetal movement should be picking up around 27 weeks rather than reducing. It's normal for fetal movement to decrease in the much later weeks leading up to full term *due date*, but not normally this early at 27 weeks unless there's a very good explanation for this. I am 29 weeks along and my child is doing summer salts, back flips and flying high on the trapeze. Definitely will be joining the circus, playing football or jumping out of an airplane later in life. Sheesh! I hope not, but I DO want my kid to be healthy. I think all mothers want the same thing. May want to place a call, just for sanity's sake?

Do fetal kick counts. Choose any 2 hour time window thru the day to do it. Sit in a quiet room with no distractions. Put your hands on your tummy. Feeling the movement internally or externally counts. The baby should move at least 10 times in 2 hours. If the baby moves less than 10 times in two hours, you need to let your doctor know. They may be more active after a meal or if you've had something sweet to drink, but not always.

Eat and drink then lay on your left side and do a fetal kick count. Less than 10 movements in 2 hours needs to be checked out! Labor and delivery will probably do a non stress test on you. Call your doctor if baby fails the kick count as well!

Well, I was told that when they get bigger they don't have much room to move around so their activity may seem a lot less. I believe there is still supposed to be atleast 10 movements within a 12-16 hour period. If there is not movement at all, call your doctor.

If it's a lot less, call your doctor tomorrow and ask to be checked rather than wait for an appointment. While a fetus does go through sleep/wake periods now, a lot less activity can mean other problems. It's best to go with your instinct.

I wouldn't worry to much but tell your doctor just in case. I am 5 months and my daughter moves alot at night and rarely during the day. You also gotta consider that the more you grow the less room there is to move.
Good Luck!

When I was pregnant with my son he stopped moving alot and I went to the hospital thankfully I did because I was only 6 months and already starting to dilate. I had to be on bed rest, take steriod shots to help his lungs develop, and put on a medicine to stop my labor from progressing. If you read on baby center they tell you that is a sign of going into labor so PLEASE if you don't feel the baby move alot call your doctor immediately!!! I almost lost my little man. Good Luck and I hope all is well.

yea it's normal. your son is growing and running out of room so they usually stop moving as much because they are so crammed. but tell your doctor about it and she'll probably have you monitored for 1/2 an hour to make sure everything is okay with the baby. that's what happened to me and everything was fine but they always take the extra precaution. Good luck
