Nothing wrong with question my son, i've been drag racing before (i guess you're not talking about top fuel but street modified). Theres not really much to tell, you take two high powered cars, put them together at the lights, when the lights hit green they go and the first one to cross the line after a 1/4 mile is the winner. Drifting is way more complicated and all i can really tell you is that drifters score points by getting the car sliding around corners and score on the angle of the car. You need a real wheel drive car or four wheel drive to drift, although rear wheel is preferable. Check out the driftworx site already mentioned and also look up the drift academy. Anyone that says driftings a waste of time is either stupid or lying, it takes a lot of skill to slide a car at 100mph around corners the way the Japanese D1 drivers do. Keep up the interest and hope to see you out on the tracks in a few years (keep it on the track tho not the road, remember that!)

"How can I fit 24" wheels on my dweebmobile"? or "What car should I buy, a Ferrari or a Maserati (my first car)"? are usually not being asked by an adult.
