I know i Am about to get hundreds of furious people but bring it on I want to know whats the hype I'm sure I could be a great QB if I had the Best O- Line Two great receivers and a above average third wideout, With Two tight ends who can block as well as go catch the ball I mean he is surrounded with a great team. He dosent lead this team to victory. Just because its Archie's boy every one wants to hype him up people really thing Peyton is the best when clearly Tom Brady is. Tom Brady dosent have half a team Peyton Does but he has more rings.. Another thing Peyton should not have been the Superbowl MVP Joseph Addai should have or somebody on defense Peyton still played his nervous playoff choke he always did its just that the defense covered his behind this time. That Defense won the superbowl not some quarterback who would probaly play back up Michael Vick if he wasnt archies boy.

Peyton has an AMAZING supporting class, and thats why is numbers are amazing, but that dosn't mean hes not a great QB. Im a patriots fan and i think Brady is better because he has had virtually no WR"s his whole career (that changes this year though). Peyton has had an amazing supporting caste, and he is definatly overrated. If he was on a team like the panthers, he wouldn't be nearly as good. That being said he is definatly the 2nd best QB in the league, and is deserving of the HOF with brady

and bravesfan ur an idoiot, peyton has had one of the best O-line in the league to protect him, and Stokley is a great WR. I do agree on one thing you said though, Rhodes should have been the MVP, not Peyton

Do you know anything about football, Nancy? If you don't know how great Manning is, then you shouldn't be watching football. His skill and talent is unmatched in the history of the league. His understanding of the game and intelligence is unparalled. He was born to play quarterback. I mean, c'mon, he's had good throwing mechanics since he was like 7. Have you seen the home videos? He still has the same throwing motion.

And remember, Peyton put up numbers in his first year but the Colts still went 3-13. Then they spent a lot of money to build around Manning. Receivers, runningbacks, lineman...all for Manning. You have no idea how much investments Bill Polian has made to get the best out of Manning...that's what great owners do. He doesn't lead his team to victory? So, um, this season, he didn't have to bail out his defense a bunch of times just to get into the playoffs?

Yes, I admire Tom Brady, I think he deserves to be mentioned in the same breath as Joe Montana. Brady hasn't had as much talent as Manning...on offense. The thing Brady has always had is a much better defense and special teams than Manning. Manning's played on weak and disappointing defenses. It wasn't until this year that they came through.

Am i one of the few people that think Manning deserved MVP? There are 5 voters. Obviously, he got the majority. Who's been leading that offense and team for years? Addai? Rhodes? Sanders? No. The QB. He has more responsibility than any other QB in the league. And he played bad at times, often having miscommunication with his receivers, but the difference between this year and the past years. He's made plays when he HAD to.

Peyton should be Michael Vick's backup? Wait, were YOU attacked by a dog in Vick's Dog Fighting Show? That is absurd. Vick is no where near as good a QB as Manning. Vick is barely as good as Eli fo god's sake. Seriously, I'm beginning to think, Shirley, that you should be watching like figure skating or the WNBA.

Bottom line: For those who say that Manning and/or Brady suck or are overrated don't know football because that means they're just caught up in the game and don't really understand it. The two of them, years from now, will be the two greatest QBs to ever put on a uniform.

Well, the Michael Vick line was just incredibly off-base.

Manning is smart, and as a student of the game, has no equal. I mean, after the past season, Tony Dungy comes out and says that every practice Peyton soaks a dozen pigskins and makes his center work on wet snaps with him. Then they play in a wet Super Bowl, and while Grossman loses about 4 snaps in the water, Peyton holds on to every one.

Take his audibles. It took years for the o-line to get used to the play changes and adjustments to their blocking schemes, but now every team with a decent QB is relying on more audibles (note: Michael Vick does not call audibles). They let the QB make adjustments based on what they see in the D, as opposed to burning a time-out.

Factor in the hurry-up offense that Indy can run at any time, wearing out the D and forcing their opponents into mistakes. The Bengals and Patriots have copied this with some success, and the Steelers will be using it this season as well.

He reads defensive schemes as well as anybody (particularly the 4-3, though the team sometimes has problems protecting against the 3-4), knows where safeties will go and what holes will be open, then hits his guy in those holes. Exactly what more do you want?

Now, I'm not saying Manning is better than Brady. He's not. But when all is said and done, both of them will be in the same discussion with Montana, Elway, and Marino when the Yahoo n00bs ask who the best QB of all time is.

Well, Manning has a good offensive staff and Brady has a great defense. It's easier to make it with a great defense, ask Trent Dilfer and Brad Johnson, both were average QB that won the Super Bowl. Besides Dwight Freeney, the Colts defense doesn't have all the stars the Pats had when Brady won those rings.

Indianapolis has a complex offensive system designed by Peyton, it seems that most people forget that Manning came to a team that won 3 games and it took a couple of seasons to make a winning team. I would like to see Michael Vick trying to figure out Indy's system, reading defenses the way Manning does.

Manning is also the best making adjustments on the line.

You know, I wonder what the hell is wrong with some people, the media included. Some are convinced to either like a player no matter how sorry he is or bash a player no matter how great he is. The rap on Peyton Manning was that he was good, but he couldn't win the "big game" and he couldn't beat the "mighty New England Patriots". Were you watching last season? He accomplished both. But now he's penalized because he's surrounded BY TOO MUCH TALENT?!? Joe Montana had a great offensive line and Jerry Rice and John Taylor to throw to. Are we gonna call him overhyped too? Lets say the defense did "save" him in the Super Bowl. My response is an emphatic ITS ABOUT DAMN TIME. That Colts defense stunk 14 out of 16 weeks in the regular season and got tired of being embarrassed, and they stepped it up for three games. And lets not forget that the Chicago Bears had one of the best defenses in the NFL that game planned to not allow Manning to beat them deep. What did he do? He nickled and dimed them all the way down the field. He would have choked if he tried to go over the top and got picked off 3 or 4 times. He did what a great QB is supposed to do and that's manage the game. He deserved to win the game, deserves the "hype" he gets. I would have given the MVP to Dominic Rhodes, but when you win the Super Bowl, you dont give beans about an MVP award. And if you think he's successful because of Archie Manning, think again, because Peyton is at least 3 times better than his old man. I'm not a Colts fan, but I am a fan of Peyton Manning, because its good to know that THE BEST QB IN THE NFL is from LOUISIANA! I normally don't rant this long, but I hate when people have unfounded criticisms that expose their personal feelings toward a player and their lack of knowledge of the game of football.

Peyton Manning is a smart QB.... not exactly a great QB.... he has great supporting cast within his offense which obviously helps alot... The Colts finally won the Super Bowl because they for once had a legitimate defense... The Colt won the super bowl not PEYTON! When I watch him play he doesn't throw the tightest spiral or have the strongest arm... but he looks off defenses and finds the open man....

Tom Brady on the other hand is just a warrior... he was supposed to be a nobody and look where he is now.... He definitely doesn't have the WRs that Peyton has but the Pats do play big time Defense.... So just like Peyton I'd say the super bowl wins from Brady couldn't have been done without D...

Brady has more talent.... Peyton knows his stuff

=both great players

Dude, the man is a great QB. This is coming from a die hard Patriots and Tom Brady fan. He puts up incredible stats every year. I think Tom Brady and Peyton Manning are the two best QB's in the NFL.

Did The Wolf post that Brees and Palmer are better than Brady? Those two combined will never accomplish what Brady has already done. Don't be an idiot and realize Brady is a legend. Those guys haven't won a playoff game, let alone win three Super Bowls (which Brady was named MVP for two of them).

Hype is a funny thing. It doesn't actually count for anything, and it isn't based on what a player has done, it is based on what the public thinks he will do. That being said, Peyton does deserve the hype because he is a freak of nature stat-wise. Highest completion percentage in the NFL and the record for most touchdowns in a single season, give the guy a break. He does have a great supporting cast to help him, but you have to realize that the team is built around the qb and he is who makes it all go. Qb is said to be the hardest position in sports (I personally think middle linebacker is harder) and he is the leader in just about every category at that position. Brady is better when it matters, but Peyton is better on paper, which is what generates hype. Brady has no hurdles left in front of him, so the days of him being hyped up are over, he will just be appreciated.

Peyton Manning is each and each piece the QB that he's meant to be. He has large receivers yet he additionally could make each and all the throws. The QB basically works if the line gets a sensible push. the line replaced into stacked with defenders. Manning isn't the scrambling QB that an incredible sort of communities have become yet no one options aside a protection and outsmarts greater protecting coordinators than Manning. You pay a QB to hit receivers and that's what he does and he's gained an incredible sort of video games and broke information doing so.

You need to get off Brady's jock and realize you are a complete moron. If you knew anything about football you would realize that Peyton had much more talent and leadership ability than most of the NFL, including NE. Vick does not have enough talent to carry many NFL QB's jockstraps. Why you even mention him is beyond me.

Now, I am not a Colt fan, but I DO recognise talent. As a football fan, I am telling you that Manning is better overall than Brady. Brady is not even the second best QB in the league. For your information, the top three QB in the NFL are Manning, Palmer, Brees. After last year, Rivers showed himself to be better than Brady.
