I'm begining to suspet that the only peace that can exist in the Middle East is the 'peace of the grave.'
America - preferably with the complicity of other nuclear powers - could bring that about. But it doesn't strike me as very probable.

Well, I think you should speak proper English when asking a question.
We are not trying to bring peace. We are trying to help bring democracy. And not an American version of democracy. But, a democracy that the Iraqi people can live with. The reason so many of the radical Islamics are dead set against democracy is that it is a threat to their way of life. What I mean by this is no more control of the media, there would be free speech. No more subjecting those with a different view point to terrible and horrible torture and deaths, there would be laws to protect the citizens and a police force to protect them. Women, as with Western democracy, would be taken out of the "closet", so to speak, and give the freedoms they deserve. The countries would come out of third world status and become competitors in the free trade market. There is no end to the possibilities of what the Arab people could do with freedom and democracy. That is what we are trying to bring the to the Middle East. Peace would just be a side affect.

Why do we have to bring peace to the whole freaking world when we have our own problems right here? All the money we have been spending on this "war" could have put a huge dent into poverty in THIS country, I'm so sick of our government making everyone elses problems our problems and getting our soldiers killed in the mean time!
