My mom took me to Claire's when I was 3 months old. I didn't really have a choice. But I think that when you fell they are responsible enough to clean the earrings themselves, then you should let them. If they are very responsible, then get them done whenever. If they are bad and get disciplined a lot, don't let them, try to get them to work for it. That way they'll learn responsibility and understand that eventually they will have to work for something they really desire.

I think you should get them pierced when you're really young like months old because you don't know whats going on so you aren't scared. She should get them pierced now because I got mine re-pierced when I was about ten and I thought that was a good age if you really want to do it, but make sure she keeps them in for the amount of time they tell her because I tried to loosen the back of my earring and the whole earring fell off and the hole closed up like that! And I had to re-pierce my own ear with the earring.

Some people says that it is best to get their ears pierce when they are baby. But I think, the age is when they can stand the pain from getting done. But really about the age of 13 or older, since they sort-of know what they are getting their self into.

there is no real set age for getting ears piereced. I think I was 10 or 11. My grandmother was angry my mom didn't pierce them when I was an infant. But my mom felt that it was to be my decision when I felt that I was ready to take care of them.

I got them pierced the same year my mom made me get braces on my teeth. trade off for year of painful braces.

I got mine done when I was 6. So I say 6 or 7 is a good age.

well the older you get, the more painful it is because the cartridge [sp.?] in your ear gets sturdier&harder[more developed]. so its more painful than if you get it at a young age when your ear cartridges are still very soft

i would say it depends on the sister. if she thinks she's ready then go for it. however, even if SHE thinks shes ready but shes very irresponsible, i would say hold it off. its not worth risking it if she is vulnerable for an ear infection. that would be much more painful than waiting until she's mature enough. i personally wouldn't advise it however, since 10 is still young.

If she wants to, it's a good time. The ear is still on the soft side, so it won't hurt that bad.
