I can't say for sure but I know I would never leave my child with someone who is cruel to animals. That's a sign that there are some serious anger issues. The person abusing a dog should be reported to the ASPCA right away. That is a prosecutable offense and they should pay the consequence.

Its hard to tell what people will do when giving another living thing to watch over. I would say that there may be a good chance that they will hit their childern in a fit of rage. A dog is helpless, well almost, as a child. So if a person can beat a dog, what's to say that they won't hit their child. On the other hand a person could see a dog as nothing but a useless animal-they could see that a child has a soul-so to tell you the truth you can't tell what a person is able to do.....

It kind of sounds like that person may have abusive tendencies. Although, pets can sometimes be very frustrating. But then again, so can kids. But animals are looked on differently than humans, and it means much less to lose a dog rather than lose a child. I really think it depends on the person and their situation.

Animal abuse does tend to be just the beginning. A lot of serial killers started by abusing animals, and, though it's not guaranteed that they'll abuse their kids, it's likely. People that abuse animals like to overpower creatures that are smaller and less powerful than they are, which, of course, children are.

The idea of abusing an animal is totally repugnant to me. Any person who would abuse a dog is beneath contempt and is probably capable of any insidious act.

It's very possible. If they abuse their animals before they have kids, then they have a 60% chance of abusing their kids when they are annoyed or the child misbehaves. You can do jail time for either one.

I think so. But the fact that they hit the dog would be enough for me to hit the road. Poor puppy. Oh, take the dog with you when you split. That poor dogie needs a good loving home.

Chances are if someone abuses an animal, they could very well abuse another -smaller- human being, too.
I feel angry when I hear of people who are mean to animals and to children. They are sick.

No, it does not necesarily mean they will abuse their children, but they may have violent tendencies, and may abuse their children, but I've caome across people that treated their children amazingly, and their animals like crap, it really depends on the person.
