I'm shocked that you are in AP English and you have not read Hamlet. Hamlet is a story of a prince from Denmark who returns home from University because His father the King has died unexpectedly. Hamlet is understandable upset, but he becomes even more upset at the fact that his mother has married his uncle. This eats away at Hamlet and after being visited by his father's ghost he suspects that his father was actually murdered by his uncle. Hamlet stages a play that resembles the murderous act to find out if his uncle did indeed kill his father. After the play, Hamlet is livid and accidentally kills Polonius. Polonius is the father of Hamlet's love Ophelia. Ophelia, upon her father's death, goes insane and commits suicide by drowning. Hamlet's uncle tells Laertes, Polonius'' son and Hamlet's best friend of the murder and entices Laertes to challenge Hamlet to a duel. Hamlet's uncle and Laertes conspire to poison the sword and kill Hamlet. The King (Hamlet's uncle) also drops a poisoned pearl into a goblet which is accidental drunk by the Queen. Both Hamlet and Laertes are cut by the poisoned blade. Laertes and Hamlet realize the King's treachery and Hamlet kills the king.

You know what. I can tell you everything but it would take me forever and I'm bound to miss some things. There are so many points and areas for discussion that my telling you just won't help. The only way you are going to pass a test about Hamlet is to read it.
