Hi! I was wondering what the perks of being a college professor are; it's supposed to be one of the best, most relaxing jobs cause of the worlkload. Can anyone elaborate? Specific perks? Also, do you think there will be a lot of jobs say ten to fifteeen years from now in the Humanities? Is it a growing field?

Thank you!

I would say that a major perk of being a Humanties professor is that you aren't homeless. That is about the only direct use of the subject matter that will result in actual gainful employment.

I wouldn't generalize it being a 'relaxing' position. It's a highly competitive field and you'll be expected to do considerable amounts of research, taking harsh criticism from your colleagues.
