Yes, what DOES it really mean? After all, a pastor/priest is just a man.
Do you know what it means? Nothing.
The love, the devotion, the sacrifice and commitment between a man and woman is ALL that matters - everything else is WINDOW DRESSING.

Maybe the pastor/priest was so nervous he forgot his lines! It would seem you were already a man and a woman when you arrived; sounds like he hasn't changed anything!
Another theory: maybe this clergymen does primarily gay/lesbian weddings, and thought that a "mainstream" couple deserved special recognition!

Sometimes it is just the way the priest like to do things. The meaning is the same he has just said it differently thats all.

It depends on the denomination the pastor/priest belongs to. When my sister got married last Saturday, the pastor introduced them as "Mr and Mrs Chris Orr", whereas other pastors may say "Mr and Mrs Chris and Ashley Orr". This pastor was Methodist.
It just depends on the denomination.

Guess it means they are all grown up now or the priest is so politically correct that "wife" is no longer en vogue. My bet is the latter.

That's silly. I think the gender part was established a second or so after birth. Kind of unnecessary now.
