I have just refinanced and was charged a $6.00 fee to make my mortgage payment online by Countrywide. I was under the impression that paying a mtg online was not subject to fees. Anyone know for sure...I was not charged a fee with my previous two lenders.

You will need to sift through the various documents you received when you refinanced through CountryWide. My guess is that, somewhere in that tiny print, there is a section dealing with such payments and fees related thereto.

Read your contract. If the fee is in there then it's legal. If your agreement stipulates a mailing address for payments and you opt to pay some other way then additional fees would be legal as well at the discretion of the mortgage servicing company.
