Why? Nixon hated a lot of people, had his famous Enemies List, had a secret slush fund, and had his plumbers, and even _he_ didn't go any further then character assassination. Most of the time US presidents only order foreigners to be killed.

I think by the time Bobby was running Lyndon Johnson was suffering from depression and removed from the political scene.

What motive would Johnson have in killing Bobby Kennedy? Johnson wasn't even running again for president.

Unlikely. Most people do not kill each other because they do not like each other. Hatred has to run deeper. There has to be a motive.
