But today i receive a notice that apparently the deal is illegal and if my friend doesn't contact the caretaker of the building and the manager. I'll get kicked out, I had no idea about this I thought he had already talked to the building manager about the sublet does anyone knows what can I and should do? Btw I am located on Manitoba

If your friend didn't have approval for the sublet, you have no right of occupancy to the property. In some jurisdictions you could be considered a trespasser and could be removed by the police. You can be evicted in most jurisdictions on fairly short notice as an unauthorized occupant. Your friend can also be evicted for violation of the terms of his lease.

You might check with the local tenant's rights organization to see if you have any specific right of occupancy. Lacking that, get ready to move quickly!
