I agree completely! You should NOT have to learn a foreign language to graduate or even as an elective. The students need to be learning English first and foremost!

Learning a moment or 3rd or heck a 5th language absolutely has its advantages. There plenty of Spanish speakme folks in America and the leisure of the arena. Mexico borders United States and lots of Americans move there for holiday so finding out Spanish is just a shrewd factor to do. Seriously do you count on each person else to study English even as foreigners who come to that nation do not particularly talk even a bit of little bit of that nation's language? It's like positioned a few attempt you realize? It's satisfactory lots of folks recognise English however finding out Spanish or French or German or Chinese will most effective be useful to you. Don't take it to middle someone who says a few language is unload and you should not study it. Why? It simply makes you speak higher with folks.

Most high schools in this country require students to learn a second language in order to graduate. Americans are among the few countries in the world who are fluent only in their first language. This is why many people in other countries are angry at American tourists who expect the entire world to speak English, while they speak no other languages.

However, all the schools I know offer several languages from which students can choose. Many schools offer French, German, Italian, Japanese, Chinese and Latin in addition to Spanish. Perhaps it is because the CA town is close to the Mexican border that they insist on Spanish. I really disagree with them. They should offer a variety of languages in my opinion.
