And I mean FIGHT, try to beat some sense into them? What happened after?

lol - I thought it was kinda Jerry Springerish too, but this ***** yelled at my four year old yesterday because she (the supposed adult) was in a bad mood. She lives in the apartment downstairs and now my son is terrified to go outside because he is afraid of her. I have tried to be nice for a long time now - this is where I draw the line and say she was smart to stay behind her door when I came out. She pulls that crap and it will be a Springer special!!

I have always pointed out to my son, as the opportunity presented itself, how abuse from anyone, no matter what the relationship, is there to teach hm how to have confidence in his own self-esteem, and never give anyone the power to be feared. Respect is not a birthright. My parents, and, my Mother-in Law served up wonderful examples of this important lesson ever since he was a small child. The result is, at nineteen, after "professionals" tried to label him as learning disabled, he has just finished his first year as a double major in Physics and Engineering, made The Dean's List for the second time, and is on track to graduate from Penn State. He is very respectful, unless, he has been disrespected, and has a close circle of good, long term friendships, and, as Billy Joel says, "Won't take sh!t from anyone".

Sadly yes. I tried to get along with Michelle's brothers. They ended up slashing all of my tires. They cornered me and a friend of mine named Hawk. These were three big guys. I'm 5'10 and Hawk's only 6 foot. We ended up beating the tar out of them. Even though one of them, Jeb, managed to break my guitar over my head. They didn't like a foreign rocker dating their sister.

No, they're pretty nice. Only time I have been really angry with them is when they decided to debate our financial decisions and make up a bunch of stuff along the way. I made my husband set them straight.

Not actually physically fight, but I have had some crazy arguments with my ex's "big North American bearilla" mother!

Bearilla.....a cross between a bear and a gorilla!

No b/c my husband's family couldn't handle it. They are too preppy. That and fighting w/ your family is kind-of Jerry Springer, you know?

..No... but I have had to remind my mother that I was grown and paid my own bills, all of them, without any of her help, and also if something needs to be said to my wife, "I" will say it , peacefully and in a nice way without any sarcasm.or unsolicited opinions...and I'm looking forward to my father-in-law moving in with us...maybe I'll have more time to spend in Avatar world, instead of mowing his lawn and constantly rebuilding his home...twice!..I didn't measure right the first time!..dang it
