I saw the recent consumer reports on online brokers and noticed that firstrade was rated the highest. Was wondering if anyone has experience with them or with online brokers in general.

I'm a collegestudent and look to start investing small and had originally looked at scottrade which was rated 5th on the consumer reports list.

Thanks for the help.

Go with Scottrade.... I've used four other platforms and Scottrade is by far the best... It will allow you to trade in the pre-market hours, has very fast execution times, and easy buy & sell features accessible from your streaming quotes page.....

Scottrade is great for experienced investors.

I started with Schwab (30+ years ago), moved to Scottrade and just recently graduated to ThinkOrSwim.

Each choice was good for my experience level... at the time.

I have used scottrade for over seven years and I have not had any problem with them. I've never used firstrade so I don't know anything about them.
