because the A.L is a video game, and the N.L managers use their brain.
in the 70's owner voted in each league to have it or not. A.L owners voted for it and N.L agaisnt it.
The leagues were seperated until 1995.

Because the AL has figured it out fans like seeing their teams score runs. When you have a DH you can usually have 20-30 Home Runs and 100+ RBI's. When no DH if you have 10+ home runs from that 9th spot in the line up it is amazing.
Also, why do you think the AL has the better pictchers because all they have to focus on is their pitching, they don't have to waste their time working on hitting.
Anyone who doesn't want the DH in baseball is stupid.

The AL has a position for for a ball player who's single contribution to the game is to swing a bat and in most cases couldn't even field a position in a mixed adult church softball league. The AL also feels it necessary to keep all the weak coaches employed, my 3 year old daughter could coach in the AL. Not much strategy has to be used when you have the DH. The position would of been gone a long time ago if it wasn't for the players union and the sympathy these people have for these feeble coaches and baseball players who can't play the game.

The NL owners do not want to pay for a DH salary which would be millions of dollars. Don't let anyone fool you into thinking its for a different reason.

Because the American League and National League are two different leagues. Where as the National League is more towards being cautious and controll the AL is more about offense. Yet, they still have the best pitchers in the AL not the National League hmmmm I wonder why? Maybe it's because they don't have to hit. Pitchers hitting is a joke.

Rule 6.10 is about the designated hitter. It begins "Any League may elect to use the Designated Hitter Rule". And every league in North America, as well as just about every other organized league around the world, has elected to do so.
The NL owners think that pitchers actually hit.

McDonald's sells hamburgers (which suck, but regardless) because some customers prefer their sandwich without cheese.
McDonald's also sells cheeseburgers, because some customers prefer their sandwich with cheese.
Thus, McDonald's successfully markets and sells two similar but distinctly, albeit slightly, different products.
MLB is doing the same thing.
