This is it:

During his 2001 MVP season for the Seattle Mariners, Japanese baseball sensation Ichiro Suzuki hit 192 singles, 34 doubles, 8 triples, and 8 home runs in a total of 692 at-bats. So, what was E(X), the expected number of bases for Ichiro at a typical at-bat in 2001?

Thanks in advance for the help!

192 * 1 = 192
34 * 2 = 68
8 * 3 = 24
8 * 4 = 32
total = 316
692 / 316 =2.1898734177215189873417721518987 bases
I'm not sure if this is what you were asking, if not, please explain a little better

(192+2*34+8*3 +8*4)/692 = 320/692 = 0.46 bases per at bat.

he has a 28% chance of hitting a single
5% for a double
1% for a triple and homer
and a 65% chance of getting out
most likely he will get out or a single
