At school, I am sort of on the weird side because I don't wear lots of makeup, I don't have a B.F, and my hair isn't layered. Quite frankly, i'm not a prep. It's not that I don't LIKE the style, I just can't wear it for reasons I won't post. The "preppy" people, boys included, are always bothering me, and my friends. Do you think it's because of the way I look etc., or maybe I don't even know it but I'm a nerd or a dork or something???

Hi sweetie, if there is a group of people that is bothering you and your friends, this group is the one with the problem, not you. I'm sure you are just fine. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and if you think that you are beautiful when you look in the mirror, then that's all that matters.
Keep your head up and don't worry about what everyone else is doing or saying. BE YOURSELF! Being and Individual is much more attractive than being apart of the so called "In" crowd. Life has a way of changing people in the future, you'll see...but in the mean time, you have plenty of time to grow up. Enjoy your youth, your not doing anything wrong.

Why do you say that you're sort of on the weird side? You are who you are and if the "preppy" people are bothering you and your friends it's because you are you and you don't let others influence your dress. They are jealous because of this reason. Makeup? Don't worry about it. It is up to you whether you want to wear makeup or not. It's your face and your clothes and if they don't like it, then, OH WELL! that's their problem. Clothes and makeup don't make the person, the personality does. It they can't see that then, phooey on them! You just keep on being yourself and don't let them bother you.

haha, I kind of feel like you described me. This is all personal opinion but you should just dress how you want, don't aim to be a certain stereotype. It's really like labelling yourself, and people will assume you're something you're not. It really depends on what kind of person you are, and if you can stand a few of people not liking you. To me it's more personality. Being a nerd or dork doesn't matter, my friends are all nerdy kids. Preppy boys, or really boys in general either ignore/hate me or make fun of me....I'm not sure if they're joking but oh well. Don't be afraid to be honest with people, or make fun of yourself.

I totally understand your situation, my all girls private boarding school in New England is completely full of preps. The dress code doesn't exactly help either. I stick to my style and even though people stay preppy, it doesn't bother me. i like that i can stick out and not just blend into the crowd.

hey, being "preppy" is just a boring cliche but being yourself is priceless.. stick with it. Shop at places where you want to not just at stores that are popular... personal style is always in. The "preppy" ppl are probably bugging you and your friends just because they're downright mean and... well.. preppy... it's what preps are known for. Don't worry about them, they're probably just annoyed that you actually have the guts to have your own style instead of conforming to the style of "preppiness".

I agree with ~~~~. If you want to change your style a bit, there's a lot of stores that can help, such as A&F and Hollister. But don't change your personality. If people see you as fake, that's always worse.

Its not silly at all, people are just mean jerks especially in the middle school age..idk if your in highs school or middle school but anyway your not weird because you dont wear make up, Be you, and you know what wear clothes from Europe then lets see what your peers think, and remember you define yourself not jerks at school>>>> hope thise helps

dont worry about what others think... and because you are not preppy and don't shop at boring stores like abercrombie & fitch doesnt mean you're a dork.
if you dont like that style, then why bother worrying about what those "preppy" boys & girls think? be yourself and you'll feel good about yourself.
from personal experience, no matter what your style, if its not "yours", then you won't be happy

If you mean that they are bothering you in a bad way, its probably because you dont conform to their idea of what "cool" is. They only put people down to make themselves look/feel better! Don't worry about it, I haven't been in high school for a little while but I thought "uncool" was in now!

don't let them get to you, they're just a bunch of idiots who are more concerned about facial hair and the latest self-tanner than thgeir future. just laugh at the fact that when you're rich and got loads of money, they'll probs be living on benefits with skanky runny nosed kids.
