i have a serious problem, and i already know that I need help. I've never cut myself before, and last night was the first AND LAST time I will...
I was REALLY stupid, I saw Pirates of the Carribean last night and noted that Jack Sparrow had a P engraved on his hand. I thought it looked REALLY cool so I tried it, I cut it into my skin. I only cut the skin part, and there was no shed of blood. I completely regret it now, I wish I would have NEVER done it. It is not infected because I put neosporin and alcohol and gauze on it and it is healing. This morning though, I was in the car with my mom and she noticed I had a bandage and asked to see the wound. I told her no and I had to explain what happened. Now that she knows I am no longer allowed to have my cell phone at night, I am no longer allowed to go to summer camp, and I am no longer allowed to go to Vermont with my best friend. I hope this blows over soon, and tomorrow is her birthday. I am really depressed and I don't know what to do

Tell her your sorry, that you love her and you will accept the punishment she gave you. She is scared for you and isn't quite sure what to do. You were trying to make a cool looking mark but she is worried that you were trying to hurt yourself, I bet. You did something stupid. The best part is that you know it was stupid. Don't do anything else that looks like you are trying to hurt yourself and she will begin to relax. This may take some time. Be patient and good luck. (By the way, tell her happy birthday.)

I'm glad you're smart enough not to hurt yourself anymore. What you have is chronic depression. You really show all the signs. As a common sufferer, I can tell you that depression is widely accepted by doctor's now, and there are many medications that really work. I hope your mother will allow you to go to your doctor. Tell the doctor EVERYTHING. That will help her figure out which med is best for you. Within a couple weeks, your mornings can be sunny and bright and happy again, That dark place is a very lonely place. And these meds don't make you goofy or anything. They just thelp the seratonin in your brain get back to normal. Please see your doctor ASAP. Have your mother e-mail me if she has a problem with this. :)

All I can say is hope that it heals try some of that scar stuff. I think your mom is being a bit harsh I'm sure if you talk to her some more you can gain back some of the stuff you lost. It's ok everyone makes mistakes and hey Jack Sparrow does have a power over people.

Keep applying the neosporin and don't pick at the scab. If you are luck it won't scar much and with time it will blend in with the other little scars you'll get through life.

Its like the saying on a tee shirt "scars are tattoos with interesting stories". You'll live through this whole experience and a lot more of them to come in the future. So get tough.

Your mother's reaction is based on the fact she has no idea what to do about this . You were so easily swayed into ignorant behavior. The best I can say is grow up and tell your mother you made a mistake and take whatever punishment she prescribes. Don't forget to learn from this.

wow its amazing how inlfuentual Johnny Depp can be. Yeah I agree that was a very stupid thing to do, but you learned your lesson, and I think your mom is over-reacting just a little bit, and if you really did hate life I dont think it would be a good idea for mom to take everything away from you...wouldnt that make you more "depressed" Fight it and tell her over and over you're sorry

Talk to your mom. Tell her about your depression and why. Explain to her that because she insisted on seeing what was behind the bandage and that you told her the truth you are now grounded and feel the lesson she taught is to lie in the future because of it.

Tell your mom how sorry you are and that you deeply regret what you did. Her reaction shows how very much she loves you. You should tell her that you know she loves you very much and that she means the world to you. You are so, so sorry - especially because it is her birthday. You didn't mean to hurt her and you will never do something so foolish again. AND YOU'D BETTER MEAN IT!

Chill out, yeah you screwed up. But come on, your mom is just worried about your well-being. You probably scared the crap out of her. Give her a little while, she will cool off.
