No. I think he was wrong to go ahead with his plans, to run away when he was notified, and to sneak back into the U S because he feared for his life. How nice--now how many others have to fear for their lives? It was reckless and irresponsible, and if I were his new bride, I'd think twice about any commitment with him.

Lord NO. Years ago I had to have a TB test, it was the skin test, it came back positive ... Talk about heart stopping, my parents freaked out. Well I had to have chest xrays, NOT FUN, I had to have a family history run, again NOT FUN, I had to be watched for 48 hours for "changes" as they called it. I was on this odd medication for a week, YUK, while we waited for my tests to come back ...
Well come to find out, I have ALWAYS had a positive skin test, even when I was a very young child. My father was in the Air Force and ALL the family (Mom, my brother and I) had to have just about all the shots he had, REALLY NOT FUN!
Some how I came into contact with something that is like TB, but NOT TB. I had to have follow up tests for 3 years, they all came back clean! So now if I have to have a TB test I have to have the second test, its a bubble of fluid under a layer of skin. Its more accurate!
When I had both my daughters I had to have all that looked at again! My medical files are thick! Gotta love the Air Force! My father also grew up in a house that had a child die in it, due to TB, the Air Force doctors, said that's how ... He was 7 or 8 I think. I did not come along until he was 23. I don't understand. I'm 37 now and things have been clear for at least 30 years!
Anyway ... GOD BLESS that man, he's in for a long battery of tests and those he came in contact with. They were saying tonight on the news that they might have to remove the infected part of the lung or lungs!

I don't understand that either. He had only to wear a mask to prevent spreading the disease. I suppose that would have made him pretty suspect, but he should have cleared it with the airlines first and had a doctor's statement or something for security.
People are selfish. They want what they want and the rest of the world be damned. I also wonder about the woman who married this man! Now THAT'S true love (or stupidity.) I would have said, "Baby, I'll wait until the doctors have certified your clear health before we marry so I can enjoy you on our honeymoon!" I mean, isn't she also guranteed to be infected otherwise? Does she have a death wish?
Which lead me to this question, if he was that contagious, WHY WASN'T HE COMMITTED TO AN SANATARIUM? Do they exist anymore? Somehow, I don't think we have the whole story.

Knowingly, no. I think he was selfish to do what he did. Wanting to get married in Paris is one thing. But he knew he had TB (his bride knew too). The moment he found out it was one that is difficult to treat, he should've used common sense and thought of the people he would be exposing to it through his actions.
He knew exactly what he was doing and that he'd been placed on the "no fly" list. He just didn't CARE what happened. It was all about "him" and "his" needs, wants, desires.
He acted very irresponsibly and I feel for the rest of the people who must now be tested as a result of his selfish actions.

If I knew before hand that I had a disease that I could give to other people no I would not have gone. I know a bit how the people on those flights must feel. I worked with a girl who had tb and I had to be tested too.

I believe he did not think he was contagious. His father-in-law works for the CDC and is a microbiologist. I believe his father-in-law told him he was not contagious. Did you know his new wife is not infected with TB and she has been around him a lot.
