Catholics????

Question

To all Catholics out there, not offending other beliefs. I would love to contact the spirit world. My mother told me it was evil. I'ving bad dreams of my parents and i'm sure they are telling me something. Tell me i'm i wrong to do this. Is it right or wrong to to do thisl. Honest answers please.

To unknown friend, i can't do that to my mum and dad. I love them both and i won't do anything to harm them. I miss them terrible.

I'm not a catholic, apologies. I'm agnostic. There has never been a case, to my knowledge of a so-called medium proving their ability. Indeed one of the most famous of these individuals on UK TV has been shown to be a con man.
I know how desperately people want to contact those they have lost. But loss is part of life, no matter how deep, and you would be better served trying to live as joyously as possible with those who are still around you, than get false solace from people who make a lot of money out of other people's deepest pain. That's my view anyway.

Honey, Catholic's don't 'contact the spirit world'. It is supposed to be a sin to try to access the supernatural, as it's God's realm. Biblically, "spirits" are sleeping until the second coming, when everyone wakes up and goes to heaven or inherits the earth etc... so according to ANY Christian belief...spirits aren't available for contact anyway.

On a more realistic level...contacting ghosts is a little far fetched. Your dreams have a logical explanation. You may achieve more by looking for dream interpretation rather than an answer from beyond.

I think it depends on how you look at it. You're Catholic, right? I'm Catholic but not really a practicing Catholic. Morally, I don't think it's wrong. I don't really believe in contacting the spirit world. I believe that people that have passed on can come to you in dreams and move things or do things to let you know they are there and all but to have someone conjure up a spirit, I think is crap. But, hey, I don't know. But I don't think even religiously it's wrong. If you do it in a satanic way, sure. Paganism, Catholic's consider wrong so... I guess it depends on how it's done. Sorry I'm not much help. I tried!

¬There is absolutely nothing wrong with trying to contact spirits. Every one of us has a personal spirit guide, aka a guardian angel. There is no reason why you cannot try and conntact your guid in times of need. All you have to do is be open to it.

The easiest way to contact a spirit is prob through meditation. EXAMPLE: Play some soothing instrumental music and sit quietly and breath in and out 3 times. Listen to your breathing and your heart beat. Picture yourself walking through a mountain trail untill you see a special place that makes you feel relaxed and comfortable. sit down. look up and see a figure coming toward you. it is your spirit guide. Ask them your question and wait for an anwer.

You can vary that any way you like. whatever suites you. Another easy way to get in touch with the spirit world is through dreams. Before you go to bed say out loud "I will remember my dreams tonight" and focus on your question.

As soon as you wake up or come out of your meditation, write down everything you remember. Everything you see, everything you feel. anything can be a subtle clue to the answer to your question. Put it down and forget about it. at the end of the day or a few days later or whenever you feel comfortable, pick it up and look at what you wrote down and see if you can make sence of the symbols.

ALWAYS remember to thank any spirits for visiting with you.

Have you thought that maybe through your dreams they are trying to contact you? Write your dreams down immediately you wake up. Before you get out of bed to do anything. You may see a pattern emerge over time. Don't try to force the issue and contact the spirit world yourself. It is a dangerous road to walk for someone inexperienced or taught how to.

Well here's something to throw back at your mom next time she says that.

Every time she prays to a Saint, which catholics do, she is paying to a dead person, aka the spirit world.

She probably didn't think of it that way, you can't be named a saint until after you die.

There is nothing wrong with what you want to do, not everyone believes in the spirit world but alot of people do, so it's a personal believe just like religion is.

I'm a catholic and have lost both my parents. I go to spiritualist meetings occasionally and receive messages from them. I find this very comforting. I haven't lost faith in the catholic church through it. I say GO FOR IT. It is bound to give you peace of mind as long as you don't go every week or become besotted with it. avoid contacting the spirit world in any way,it is wrong and can have very negative outcomes,even harmfull to you. as tempted as you are please stay strong and find your comfort in jesus christ. i am roman catholic and would suggest you read the section in the catechism that deals with this issue. you may be able to locate some material on this from the ewtn website,i have seen some broadcasts about this issue from experts,even ex occult members etc testified against its evil. one show i remember is called "the one true faith" that has an episode on this. in your own interest avoid it. god bless.

Be careful about contacting "the spirit world" cause you never know what kind of spirits you might be contacting and if you contact something nasty be prepared for the entity to do some nasty things.

It tells us in the Bible not to consult mediums. If the power doesn't come from God then it comes from satan. So mediums work for Old nick. The truth comes from The Light Of The World-Jesus Christ. (And the Bible)
