Only if you go to a good one and you trust them. Getting over a guy might make you be more comfortable talking to a female shrink. Remember she works for you though, and not the reverse. There are some great ones, you just don't know who they are until you pay them. @80) true

If you want to talk to someone and not have to worry about what you say being repeated. Go for it.

You may not need a "shrink". A counselor may work fine. It is just someone to talk things through with a neutral ear.

Don't worry about "fattening wallets" or other peoples opinions. If you think you need it--do it.

What so you can help fatten the shrinks wallet? I think you can get over whoever your trying to get over by yourself. The last guy that I dated I thought I wouldnt get over him but I have! THANK GOD!
BUT if its THAT serious where you CANT get over that guy then yes it would help if you see a shrink ONLY if its necessary!

They do help, but I would say ANYBODY would be of help. You can talk to your friend, mom, whoever you feel comfortable around. A "shrink" is just a name and money. Talking to anybody about what's on your mind helps a lot! Good luck and sorry to hear about your pain:(

Shrinks are for people who have mental illness not broken hearts. talk to a friend, listen to sad music, let go - let yourself cry.then get on with your life.

You'll be fine.

In my personal experience (family members) I haven't seen much results with them but every case is different I suppose.
