I guess they lied to their voters when they said they would then right?

They absolutely lied to the voters. They said if they got elected they would end the war, they got elected and they have not ended the war. The truth of the matter is that they simply do not have enough votes in congress to pass the things they wanted to pass (a time line etc.). If they really wanted to end the war however, they could simply stop funding, it would not require any votes just inaction on the part of the leadership.

because the republicans have the old if you vote yes, you lost and if you vote no, your against the troops.

That is the sickest thing any human can do. to use the children of others as a political tool. Of course, you would expect this from a president who was too cowardly to fight in a war. yet h'es brave enough to profit from the blood of american soldiers.
