Now this made me think and it seems such an obvious question. Yet..
See, all this McCann media circus has done for me has taken my mind off Maddy and unleashed a deal of distaste for her parents. I sat down last night and I decided to think just where Maddy might be...then the reality of that hit me and how I would be consumed every waking minute by where she was RIGHT NOW, what was happening to her, who's got her, is she still alive and I could take no more then a couple of minutes thinking that before it became overwhelmingly upsetting and I had to stop.
This may not be pertinent to the question asked but I feel all the McCanns have achieved is to turn the world's attention to them when the focus should be Maddy. Once again, the McCanns have this all the wrong way round.

I think we're going to see another Ben Needham type case here, unfortunately. Anyone who can put together an abduction of this magnitude leaving no leads whatsoever, especially given the size of the reward and the advertisement campaign Madeleine's plight has received, will most definitely have left nothing to chance with changing Madeleine's identity completely...although I suppose a good life with other people is preferable to some on the scenarios I'm sure we've all thought about.
I blame the parents for not having basic common sense and leaving the children in the first place, thus giving the abductor a far easier opprtunity than they ever should have had; and the evil individual who took her from her bed, both equally.
For the record, I do not believe I am perfect for one second, it's called being a mother.

Going by past cases similar to this then usually these kids have been killed within the first 24 hours. Very very sad, one can only hope she is being held perhaps by a family but I think that is unlikely. Whoever took her knew she was there and left alone, hence the suspicious sightings of people hanging around in the days leading up to the abduction. Sadly her parents are to blame for constantly leaving her alone in that room. If the kidnapper didn't know she was alone then why would he have gone in the room in the first place?

I won't lose hope until there is evidence that causes me to lose hope. I have 2 girls and a baby on the way... and my heart breaks every time I hear about another child gone missing.

I think the parents were irresponsible... but blame is a little harsh. I know how horrible I would feel in their place. So I will not *say* I blame them. Blame upon the jerk who took her.

BTW everyone seems convinced she was taken from her bed... I don't think that is so... or the twins would be gone also. I think she woke up and as any 4-yr-old would do... went looking for her Mommy and Daddy. That is why I have never given in to the temptation to run to the store while the kids are napping... even when it was just across the street...

There has to be "HOPE" or else we would all be in despair.
I pray many times a day that this poor child will return home safe. Like the McCanns, I cannot allow myself to entertain the thought that she is gone forever - I chase that out of my mind and HOPE , HOPE that she is still alive and that she is with people who will treat her well and not some awful paedophiles.
Did you see that t.v. programme last night on "More4" - "The Child Sex Trade" - in Romania? Some fathers were selling their own children into prostitution. It was very upsetting. I can't understand how any parent could subject their own child to this life.
I blame the paedophiles themselves. They are utterly selfish and self-obsessed - they care for no-one but themselves.

The harsh facts of life are that children who are abducted do not survive more than a few days. If, however, the abductor(s) are a childless couple then they will definitely survive until discovered. The incidences of children abducted by childless couples is also very rare.
After this length of time, without a single definite siting, I think it is time that the McCanns stopped living in lala land and began to grieve. By doing this they can start to put their twins first, and that is what they sould be doing. They should stop their planned European and World tours right now, cope with their grief and in so doing regain some degree of respect from the public. They have been misused but, unfortunatley, they have appeared to enjoy it.

I don't think there is much hope now really. I don't know what her parents were thinking by leaving her alone. If you do that in England it's against the law. I think the way they kept going back and checking probably alerted the abductor that there were children alone. I think they will never get over the fact that they left her and they must be blaming themselves so it doesn't seem fare to criticise. They made a very big mistake and I'm sure they realise it now. Their daughter, them and the rest of there family will pay the price for ever. So I don't think it's fare to criticise them I don't see it achieves anything.

It's not looking very good for her, as you say days have turned into weeks and so on. A large part of the blame can be attributed to the parents, all criminals need to commit a crime is motive and opportunity, if it is a paedophile that took her as everyone is speculating then the motive is all too clear. Sadly, it was her parents who provided the opportunity.

It saddens me to say but I don't think she is still alive.
I do not think her parents were irresponsible, they did not even imagine that this could happen. They where on holiday the children were asleep. They would probably sleep all night. They checked on them, Maddie had disappeared. they reported her missing. All parents will know that at the end of the day when your children are sleeping there is nothing better than some timeout. They were extremely unfortunate and someone took their child. How sad.
Children go missing everyday, here is one child that we all know about.

The list of people to blame is extensive
firstly the McCanns for putting their child in this situation by leaving her alone for so long
The abductor/s
The network of child abductors The recipient of the child weather that be a family or paedophiles.
And of course any associates within those groups
The child is the commodity.and blame must rest on all shoulders.
Personally I think the chances now are slim of finding her
