Can you prove or disprove global warming exists?

I don't /believe/ in much of anything.

The evidence for the phenomenon of 'gobal warming' - that is, that there's been a slight uptick in average global temperature over the last 50 years or so - is certainly there.

The evidence that it's the result of human activity is less compelling.

Global Warming is UNDENIABLE. The mere fact that we have had Ice Ages and are NOT currently in one is proof positive that the earth has warmed.
There have been numerous ice ages and an equal number of warmings. All of these before man invented the SUV.
The only issue in contention is WHAT is causing the current warming trend. The question has no answer which makes it a perfect political issue.
Ultimately, it boils down to who are we going to kill? If the atmosphere continues to warm, the ice melts and island people drown (maybe). If the warming stops and another ice age begins, crops won't grow and people starve to death or if they do live long enough they freeze to death.
Warming will make northern climates have a longer growing season and those crops will feed more people.
If steps are taken to control global warming (whether or not it is even possible), the west's economy would be destroyed and medicine could not be produced or distributed, not to mention food and water. This would kill many millions of people.
So, which is the best or least bad? I can tell you this without a doubt: Leftists want the economy destroyed so they can have a Hugo Chavez running the USA. I cannot imagine why anyone with even a George Bush sized brain (really small) would want that.

ya'll need to do more research..."Global Warming" is a "theory"! Weather patterns have occured like this for thousands of years! The Earth warms up, then cools down, then warms up, then cools down. It's only a pattern and we can do nothing to prevent how hot it's going to get. Also, it has NOT been proven that the theory of "Global Warming" is factual. Read up more and then talk to me about "Global Warming". To answer your question, NO! "Global Warming" is not true and I do NOT believe in it so...
ciao for now,
tara =D

Global warming exists.

Temperature measurements prove this.

The end of the ice age proved that the earth warmed in the past.

But as to the *causes* of current global warming, some of them are well known, but there percent contribution has not yet been determined.

NO ONE can tell you the relative contribution of the natural variation of the sun, or greenhouse gasses, to current warming.

Combustion of ogranic compunds such as gasoline, creates CO2 as a biproduct.

CO2 resonates with the light in order to help contribute to the general warmth of the earth. The effect is essentially the same as what happens when you heat water in a microwave.

Burning gasoline therefore will add more CO2 which will cause the earth to warm.

Also, we are getting less energy from the sun than we were 50 years ago in what is known as Global Dimming, so don't even try to blame solar cycles.

Yes I strongly believe in global warming. Just look at the news they found a glacier floating near the Philipines not so long ago. A piece of Antartica got melted off. Just watch an Inconvenient Truth there is a whole lot of proof there. Better yet why don't you go to New Orleans see what Katrina left behind.

NO!!! no one has convinced me that we are under a threat from the earth warming. there are to many varibles that can't be explained that keeps me from believing in this and anything that the liberal left is for can't be good for the world. what makes al gore an expert on anything? he was born with a silver spoon in his mouth money that the family made in part with tobacco. go figure.

Global Warming do exist and its already happening. Massive flooding of coastal cities, ruinous melting of polar ice, the desertification of massive swaths of farmland all of these are cause of global warming if we dont do anything billions of ppl will die year after year.
