I live in the state of Georgia and I have separated from my husband. I want to know if by Georgia law, I am held liable for nonpayment of rent after the lease has expired. I've submitted my non renewal letter, notifying the rent office that I would not renew. My husband still lives in the apartment.

As long as you paid your portion until your lease ended and made sure they were in receipt of your letter of non-renewal before the lease expired/auto renewed,(if you had that option) then No you do not owe anything.

As long as you vacated the property and gave proper notice, your liability for rent expires with the lease. If your husband stayed put, it's all up to him now.
