they are getting a dim silver color on the backs is that normal

it is like at the top of the piranhas developing around the top fin its a very thin line running alonf the top horizintally its either a silverish or a very bright white i cant tell

it seems normal cuz every piranha i look at on google has the same thing but larger

Nope, not normal at all. Please describe the area in a little more detail and especially the location of the spot or spots, that is critical in determining what the problem may be.

Add the additional information and I'll check back and edit my answer in a little bit.

EDIT: Yes, that does sound completely normal and just the fish developing natural colorations. A round area of white or dull silver look around the dorsal fin area could have been Neon tetra disease is why I asked for the details. Glad to here it's all normal.
